Born in 1976, Désirée de Montebello graduated in 2000 in Design for Performance at Central Saint Martins College in London.

She also studied Litterature, Latin and languages in Lycee Condorcet (Hypokhâgne) and Italian Litterature at La Sorbonne Nouvelle University, Visual arts at Accademia di Belli Arti in Rom, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Assisting set designers for several national theaters in France (National Theater of Toulouse, Caen), she created performances involving Mythology, and Nature in Orpheus (Malta, Blue Grotto) ; She also realized several books and landscapes focusing on the link between inhabitants and their surrounding, Nature, it’s chromatic vibrations (Mali, Antilles …) Her book on Tangier was a finalist of the George Sand Price.

In 2009, she leads a long term project supported by Union pour la Méditerranée, gathering poets and visual artists Mediterranean banks and travelled in solo or duo in Maroccco (Tangier with the French Institute), Spain (Valparaiso Foundation) Italy and Turkey, on Identities and the link between the inhabitants with the Mediterranean sea, with a poetry performance and an exhibition at Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. In 2011 she travels in Palestine for Antigone with Hadel Hakim, and the National Palestinian Theater, in Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, and also Jersusalem.

She imagined a mural for the Armand Trousseau Hospital and did masterclasses for prisoners in the Detention Center of Fresnes or a drawing book for an organization of women in Washington DC. (NSDAR).

Since 2017, she dedicate her work on the body expression, with a collaboration with dancers of Opera de Paris and keep working on Mediterranean banks project.

Her work has been shown in Museum of Trouville s/mer, galerie Orenda (Paris) and will be exhibited in Konstanz (Germany) in 2020.
